Why go

Atlantis Paradise Island is the resort complex that dominates the eastern end of Paradise Island, a short bridge ride from downtown Nassau: a cluster of hotel towers, a casino, a marine habitat and a sprawling water park built around an Atlantis-myth theme. Most visitors who are not staying on site come for one thing: Aquaventure, the water park that spreads across the resort’s grounds with slides, a lazy river and a shark-filled lagoon you swim past rather than merely look at.

The pink-topped Royal Tower is the resort’s most recognisable building and the easiest way to spot the property from across the harbour.

Visiting: hours, admission, booking

The facts box on this page shows Aquaventure’s current opening hours; the resort states these can shift with the season and with daylight, so treat the box as the starting point and not a guarantee for a specific date. The official booking page does not list a fixed adult day-pass price, since the rate changes by date and season, so check the current price on the official site before you plan around a number.

Day passes and all other bookings go through atlantisbahamas.com, the resort’s own site, which is also the best place to check for any closures or schedule changes ahead of a visit.

Getting there

Atlantis sits at One Casino Drive, Paradise Island, across the harbour bridge from downtown Nassau. A taxi from the cruise port or from central Nassau is the simplest way in; the bridge toll and traffic at peak arrival and departure times for cruise ships can slow the crossing, so build in extra time if you are visiting for a single day rather than staying on site.

Nearby

Nassau’s harbourfront sights, including the straw market and the cruise port itself, sit just across the bridge, so a day at Atlantis pairs easily with a half-day in downtown Nassau. For the rest of what the capital offers, see the Bahamas things-to-do page.
